Abstract

The webinar "Halal Detection Training Using AI: BRIN's Breakthrough with Smart Sensors" aims to enhance understanding of the application of modern technology in verifying product halal status. Held virtually, the training highlights the importance of detecting contaminants such as porcine gelatin—a key focus of BRIN's research. Traditional methods have limitations, driving innovation in ultra-sensitive smart optical and electronic sensors capable of detecting gelatin concentrations below 1%. The role of the "e-nose" in rapid, real-time detection is crucial, supported by deep learning integration that yields high detection accuracy (median 0.981). The webinar underscores Indonesia's strategic position in the global halal market and the importance of scientific and technological innovation in maintaining product integrity and consumer trust.
