Abstract

The olive tree (Olea europaea) is a natural symbol that holds profound meaning in religious and cultural traditions. In the Qur’an, the olive is described as a blessed tree (syajarah mubārakah), representing balance, prosperity, and the light of guidance. This article aims to explore how the symbolism of the olive tree can be reinterpreted within the context of modern ecology as a representation of environmental sustainability. The study employs semiotic, semantic, and stylistic approaches to analyze linguistic signs and figures of speech that construct ecological messages. The findings indicate that the religious meaning of the olive tree is not merely spiritual in nature but also conveys ecological values related to sustainability, simplicity, and natural balance. Thus, the olive tree emerges as a timeless symbol representing a harmonious relationship between humans, God, and the environment.
